My Story
It started with learning to drive manual. There’s something about controlling the gears yourself — the speed, the handling, the feel of it — that a lot of people never get to experience. Once you understand it, you understand cars differently.
From there it became cars, period. Not one brand, not one type — I’ve owned a little bit of everything over the years, and every one of them taught me something about the craftsmanship and engineering that goes into building something that fast, that precise.
These vehicles became my getaway. My stress relief. When my head was too full, I’d go out and drive — and for a while, everything else went quiet. Along the way I met other people chasing the same feeling. Car people. The ones who understand why you’d spend your hard-earned money making a vehicle a little different, a little more yours. It’s not vanity. It’s part of who we are.
Every bolt changed. Every part swapped. Every idea that started as “what if” and ended up bolted to the car, running, real. Watching something come to life because you built it — that never gets old. Making it faster. Giving it some sound. Letting the town know you’re around.
Over the years I’ve owned a lot of cars and trucks, done my own thing to each one, and met more people through it than I can count. But life moves. Vehicles get sold, new ones show up, everybody gets busy — and somewhere in there, I lost track of a lot of it. No pictures, no documentation, from builds and drives I put real time and money into. Just memories now.
That’s the part that stays with me. And if you’ve been building for any length of time, it’s probably already happening to you too — the setup that got sold two owners ago, the parts list you can’t fully remember, the drive you never got a picture of because you were too busy living it. Nobody documents the build while they’re in it. Everybody wishes they had, later.
That’s why Motion Workz exists.
It’s here to help me — and the friends who build right alongside me — actually document this stuff, and to give every other builder a place to do the same. The builds. The setbacks, when things don’t go how you planned. The late nights wrenching before a car show, a rally, a track day, or just a clear Saturday to go enjoy what you built. Here’s how it works:
- Show up in your lane. Import, Euro, exotic, truck, muscle — bring the build you’re actually driving, not a show queen.
- Document it as you go. Share the setbacks and the late nights, not just the finished shot — that’s what makes it real, and what makes it findable later.
